On a very cold day in January, the sundogs were shining as I was driving the highway in the Red River Valley, I stopped when I spotted a couple of lone trees and decided they would complement the picture well. You can click on the pictures to purchase a print.

Later in the month, after spending too much time indoor on those colder days, the temperature finally got to a nice -5C and though it was about time I go for a hike in nature. I decided to head for the trail systems at Falcon Lake by the sky slopes. I first started with the Top of the World trail and captured a few shots at the iconic viewpoint.

A bit later, as I walked along one of the trail, I noticed the frost at the top of the trees and took this shot against the blue sky and wispy clouds.

As the afternoon came to an end, I decided to hike up one final trail located at the Eastern end of Falcon Lake to capture the sunset and was delighted with this awesome view.

After hiking back down, as the sun was finally setting over the horizon, the sky started changing colors to a majestic purple and pink hue and with the cooling temperature, fog started to rise up from the snow covering the ice of the lake and so I decided to walk a bit on the lake and to capture this final shot between two islands before returning home.

Near the end of the month, as I was in St-Boniface, I also took a couple of shots from the heritage buildings of the old Hotel-de-Ville and of the fire station #1 behind it.
